GRAY: Marcus Max Avery, 46, died Thursday, March 6, 2014. The family received friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., prior to a 2:00 p.m. memorial service, on Monday, March 10, at Real Life Church in Macon. The Rev. Johnny McGowan officiated the service.

Mr. Avery, the son of the late Max George Avery and Waltine Burnham Avery, was born in Macon on March 7, 1967, and had lived in Gray most of his life. He was a 1986 graduate of Cross Keys Christian Academy and worked as a mining superintendent for Cherokee Brick and Tile in Macon for 23 years. Marc and Cindy enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in the outdoors with their son, Triston. He also attended Real Life Church.

Mr. Avery is survived by his wife, Cynthia Marie “Cindy” Chaffin Avery; son, Triston Marcus Avery; brother, Frankie Davis; and sister, Teresa Rogers.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Mark and Lori Findlay at 167 Cedar Creek Farms in Haddock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cindy and Triston Avery Fund at Morris State Bank in Gray.
