On a bitterly cold evening with the wind gusting and threatening to tear the backstop netting from the backstop and send the flag in center field to Baldwin County, the Greyhounds finally found a way to get the blood pumping.

Down 10-5 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning, the Greyhounds managed a seven-run rally with two outs to forge ahead, then survived a scare of their own in the seventh to escape with a 12-11 subregion victory over Warner Robins last Tuesday night in Gray.

They added a 12-2 win over Howard in Macon on Wednesday to improve to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in 2-AAAAA West.

Jones County was to play at Houston County, which handed the Greyhounds their only subregion loss, on Tuesday, head back to Warner Robins on Wednesday to play a makeup game against Northside and then make the trip again to face Warner Robins on Friday in a busy week that will go a long way toward determining the subregion champion.

The Greyhounds also have a home non-region game against Dublin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
