The Jones County tennis teams won three matches last week. The girls downed GMC 4-1 in Milledgeville on Tuesday and blanked Warner Robins 5-0 and Lamar County 5-0 on Wednesday and Thursday at home. The boys topped GMC 5-0, came from behind to down Warner Robins 3-2 and blanked Lamar 5-0.

Home matches against GMC on Friday were rained out.

The Lady Hounds are now 12-2 on the season and 7-1 in Region 2-AAAAA play. The Greyhounds are 13-1 overall and 7-1 in the region.

Both are 1-1 against Houston County, so their April 14 meeting in Gray will determine the subregion champions, coach Alisha Gordon said.

Against GMC, the Lady Hounds’ Jazmine Washington defeated Audrey Harris 8-3, Makayla Schafer lost to Maddie Allen 3-8, Alexis Deuley beat Meredith Riner 8-5, Olivia Lane and McKenzie Barnes beat Rebekah Veatch and Niki Thomas 8-1, and Kaitlyn Holder and Rosanna Baker downed Simone Wilson and Emma Cate Shoemaker 8-1.
