Carlos Alberto Montezano-Martinez was arrested Dec. 29, 2011, and charged with child molestation and aggravated child molestation. He was 34 at the time of his arrest.
According to a story about the arrest in The Jones County News, the victim of the alleged molestation was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia by the mother of the minor child, and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department was notified by the hospital.
Investigator Kenny Gleaton said the incident leading to the charges occurred Christmas Eve and the evidence pointed to Montezano-Martinez.
He was indicted Aug. 6, 2012, for two counts of child molestation.
Montezano-Martinez’s case was called for trial March 25, but after sitting in court all day and watching the selection of the people who would have his fate in their hands, he made the decision to plea.
