Monday’s candidate forum was well attended by interested voters and all candidates for Jones County’s Board of Education.

The April 28 forum was held in the main courtroom of the Jones County Courthouse, which presented a relaxed venue that appeared to put the candidates at ease.

Greg Mullis was the moderator for the forum, which was attended by State Reps. Susan Holmes and Bubber Epps and State Senate District 26 candidate Miriam Paris.

Jones County’s Board of Education District One candidates are Tony Blash, Richard Cazort and Ken Hamilton. District Three candidates are J.D. Collins, Dr. Nancy Nash and Brady Skinner.

Each candidate was introduced and was allowed to give an opening statement before the questions began. The questions were submitted to the Chamber of Commerce before the forum or during the event and were alternated among the candidates.
