JONES COUNTY: Holland Gurnee, 73, of Jenna Court, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at his residence. The family greeted friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., Friday, at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Services were private.

Mr. Gurnee was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Franklin, Pa., and had lived in Jones County for the past 27 years. He was the son of the late Andrew Gurnee and Dorothy Hoffman Gurnee. Mr. Gurnee honorably served his country with the U.S. Navy and was a truck driver for Hazel Trucking Company.

Mr. Gurnee is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judith Gurnee; sons and daughter-in-law, Holland and Jennie Gurnee, Shane and Lori Pace and Scotty and Alissa Pace; daughters and son-in-law, Becky and Wayne Fain and Sherry Brown and her fiancé, Ricky Moore; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia, 1160 Forsyth St., Macon, GA 31201.
