The health fair starts at 2 p.m. ,Monday, June 2, and will be located at 114 Forest Street in the grassy area between the Jones County Library and Health Department. It is hosted by Peach State Health Plan, Family Connection, and Right from the Start Medicaid.
The library program begins at 2:30.
The fair showcases free community resources and support services, health screenings, giveaways, door prizes, children activities, food, and more. Agencies included are WIC, Boys and Girls Club, Head Start, First Choice Primary Care, Wal-Mart Vision, Small Smiles Dental Center, First Foundation, and Susan G. Komen.
Family Connection coordinator Joy Carr said one of the main objectives of Jones County Family Connection is to connect the community to resources.
“Last year, I reached out to area program directors for Peach State and Right from the Start to start an annual resource and health fair, and the response was overwhelming,” she said.
