The former Gray Station Better Hometown program changed its name to Main Street Gray as of July of 2013, and Haley Watson became the new program manager this past April. Watson already has a successful Daylily Festival under her belt and is looking toward two more big Main Street events this year, one of which is still in the planning stages.
The new manager spent her early childhood in Macon but attended middle and high school in Jones County. She lives in Jones County with her husband and three children and started updating the mainstreetgray.org website while still working as a volunteer.
Watson attended Macon State College and has an Associate’s Degree in general studies and a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on information technology.
She has the lofty goal of listing every business in Gray on the website to promote businesses and to assist the citizens of Gray by letting them know what local businesses have to offer.
Under the business resource tab on the mainstreetgray.org website is an option to open the business profile form. By completing that form, business owners can share pertinent information with the community, including menus for restaurants and what is available in stores. Pictures may also be uploaded to the site.
