Bond was recently denied for a suspect arrested in connection with a marijuana grow house discovered in Jones County this past April.

Yosvany LaRosa was arrested April 15 following the discovery of the illegal marijuana plants by Jones County deputies. He was represented in the bond motion by defense attorney Lars Anderson.

Assistant District Attorney Wright Barksdale told the court that the state opposed bond for LaRosa. He described the case for Superior Court Judge Hulane George, who presided over the July 24 hearing.

“The sheriff was contacted by the power company about an unusual amount of power being used at the residence,” he said.

Barksdale said deputies started watching the house and found LaRosa outside of the grow house.

Anderson said his client was stopped on the road and was not on the property. He said LaRosa’s vehicle was searched and bills were found that were the homeowners.
