Jeremy Ross Gunnells and Chad Michael Clanton were arrested Aug. 11 and both were charged with VGCSA possession of meth with intent to distribute and the additional charge of abandonment of dangerous drugs, poisons, or controlled substance, for allegedly throwing drugs out of their vehicle.
Jones County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Robert Reece said the arrest was the 14th for Gunnells and the fifth for Clanton.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections website, Gunnells was out on parole for an aggravated battery conviction. He was serving 15 years at Telfair State Prison, which began May 13, 2010. He was released on parole May 12.
His previous convictions include theft of a motor vehicle in Jones County in 2008, two convictions of theft by taking in Bibb County in 2005, entering vehicle and theft by taking in Bibb County with no year listed, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer in Jones County, also without a date.
The website had no information about Clanton.
