Katherine (Kathy) Helene Coley

Katherine (Kathy) Helene Coley of Gray, Georgia passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024, after a battle with dementia.

Kathy was born on February 5, 1947, to Martha Helene Thomas in Macon, Georgia. A visitation for friends and family will be Friday, April 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gray Memorial 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia.

Johnny McGowan will be officiating.

In 1962, Kathy met Homer and they got married on June 6, 1964.

Kathy worked for the Jones County Board of Education as a school bus driver for fifteen years.

She then went on to be a teller at the Bank of Gray for seven years and then went with Piedmont Bank of Gray working her way up to head teller. She retired from banking in 2012. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter Kylie and working in the yard taking care of her flowers and going antiquing.

Kathy was predeceased in death by her mother, Martha Helene Thomas, her sisters, Jean Rope, Dannette Calhoun, Ann Evans, and most recently her brother Daniel F.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Homer Coley; her daughter, Chantel (Buster) Bass; her granddaughter; Kylie Bass, her sister; Faye Higbee, sister-in-law Diane Thomas and several nieces and nephews.
