Kathy Marsh, 76, of Gray, Georgia passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 2, 2024, due to health complications.

Kathy was born on September 23, 1947, in Shelby, North Carolina, and was the daughter of Charles and Helen Gibson. Kathy attended Broomfield High School in Broomfield, Colorado and was highly skilled in shorthand and typing.

During her school-aged years, Kathy participated in Job’s Daughters holding different positions and becoming Honored Queen.

Upon graduating high school, Kathy attended Fort Lewis College in Colorado. After which, she moved to Washington DC where she worked for the FBI as a secretary.

Kathy was the devoted spouse of Allen B. Marsh.

They married on Aug. 24, 1968, and began their exciting journey together in Colorado, and later relocated over their 55 plus years of marriage living in Alaska, Texas, and settling most recently in Georgia.

Kathy continued her career as a transcriptionist with Anchorage Mental Health Center while also balancing the full-time role of homemaker. An entrepreneur, she established her own businesses in Texas and Georgia, providing professional services. She was a pioneer of using word processing systems, job-sharing, and remote work methods in the mid-1980s. However, Kathy’s greatest career accomplishment was raising her and Al’s three daughters.

Kathy is survived by her husband; Al, daughters; Heather (Chuck), Jennifer (Mario), Rebecca (Jeff) and grandson; Allen “AJ.”

She is also survived by her brother; Kirk Gibson (Gwen).

Kathy was preceded in death by her father Charles and mother Helen.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane in Gray, GA at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St.

Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
